  • AGTD: day 25X-27X

    day 25X (Friday, January 28, 2011)
Finishing up my comic for the AJET newsletter while watching bad movies with T. Stacey late into the night.

    day 26X (Saturday, January 29, 2011)
Watching airplanes with K. Adams at KitaQ Airport (relaxing/chilled adventure), talking to M. Smith (always a pleasure), and attending/partying at T. Stacey's going-away dinner/party (bittersweet).

    day 27X (Sunday, January 30, 2011)
    a) Walking with T. Stacey and T. Chan on the way to dinner and commenting on the gorgeous sky: "Now that's an orgasmic sky!"
    b) Saying my last goodbye to T. Stacey, and while this is technically a sad thing, I think it's awesome that, in the space of a year, I've made a friend who has had such an impact on me to where saying goodbye really does suck. That's a good thing, a good thought.

  • AGTD: day 24X

    day 24X (Wednesday, January 26, 2011)
Three poems and one song written (Untitled Laid Flat), two movies watched (Clash of the Titans and Toy Story 3), and first full meals in three days. Two thumbs up.
    Also,
There was a sky so blue my eyes and the birds swam it.

  • AGTD: day 20X-23X

    day 20X (Saturday, January 22, 2011)
Another successful ShinMENkai and the follow-up party. Feels good to get up and get down.

    day 21X (Sunday, January 23, 2011)
The many and varied looks that crossed the face of the Down Syndrome girl who was performing as part of the taiko group. Sometimes confused, sometimes aloof, but when she smiled, it lit up her face and my heart. And then she would beat the drum to her own rhythm. The most awesome part of it all, though, was that nobody tried to correct her and no one tried to pull her from the stage. They just let her shine. Moments like that--I'm proud to be in Japan.
And though it is highly possible that I aggravate and intensified my probability of sickness based on running myself thin--I've low concern for my physical well-being... which is odd--, it was awesome seeing K. Adams drum up a storm and wishing J. McHugh an awesome birthday!

    day 22X (Monday, January 24, 2011)
Feeling ill, I asked the Sun to shine for a moment. And it did. Probably not because of me, but I felt it for me and I thank God (and the Sun). Also, thanks much to my Japanese friend Chuck NORIs who drove me to the hospital even though his son had a medical check-up in fifteen minutes. Probably not the best parenting (though he did promise a juicebox to the kid) but awesome friendship skills and much thanks to that!

    day 23X (Tuesday, January 25, 2011)
A pack and a half of Ritz the day before and about 12-hrs of sleep followed by four morning classes. Thank God for the strength. Thank friends for the concern and outpouring of love and well-wishing. Thank Japan for the medicine swiftly (and cheaply) received right after school finished. Oh! And no charge on the overdue book. Wicked.

  • AGTD: day 18X

    day 18X
    The day of random/coincidental/God-ordained events:
    a) Teacher I thought disliked me talked to me, was patient in my non-understanding, and seemed to be having a good time.
    b) Empty teacher's room and me. "Bad" student comes in. We chat about music, his likes/dislikes, my likes/dislikes, his thoughts on my art. I take the convo outside ('cause he's actually not allowed in the teacher's room) and continue talking. Two other students go into the teacher's room to ask for a teacher. I tell them "There's no one in there." They ignore me. "Bad" student calls them out on that and says "Didncha hear? There's no one in there!" Quality.
    c) 7-11 clerk greets me/acknowledges that he has the power to talk to me. We talk for the first time.

For the random thought: During class, I remembered my friend telling me I have a body like a radiator, which made me laugh to myself.
